Without the use of a dental bridge, spaces in the mouth from missing teeth can cause multiple teeth to shift, lead to occlusion (biting) and/or jaw problems and spur periodontal disease. Dental bridges safeguard the integrity of existing teeth and help maintain a healthy, vibrant smile.
Dental Crown & Bridge: Step by Step
Initial Visit
Your first visit with our dentists will include a thorough examination of the teeth, gums, jaw joints and other supporting structures. Using diagnostic x-rays, moulds and impressions, our dentists will look for hidden problems that could be impacting the look and health of your smile. Our dentists will inform you of the various options you have and provide information to help you make the best choice.
Tooth Preparation
Once the treatment plan is finalized, our dentists will remove a small amount of the natural tooth structure to allow the dental Crown/Bridge to fit over your tooth comfortably and securely. A temporary crown will be placed over the tooth while the final restoration is being fabricated at the dental laboratory.
Final Restoration
In about 2 to 3 weeks, you will return to our dental office for the Crown/Bridge fit appointment. Our dentists will cement the Crown/Bridge in place for a stable and permanent fit.
