Dr Vijay Devayya, Dentist

Dr Vijay is our very own local dentist in Bendigo with a passion for instilling a positive experience in his patients. His professional goal is to provide comprehensive dental care for all patients using a gentle approach allowing him to effectively deliver compassionate dental treatment in a positive manner.

After graduating with a degree in Dental Surgery in India, Dr Vijay went on to complete his Masters of Public Health in Sydney, and simultaneously completed his Australian Dental Certificate Examination.

To be able to provide the best of care for his patients, Dr Vijay regularly attends continuing dental education programs in Australia and worldwide. Dr Vijay has a special interest in Implant Dentistry and Endodontics. He is our go-to dentist for dental treatment under General Anaesthetic.

Dr Vijay and his wife have called Bendigo Home for the past 8 years and are actively involved in giving back to the community both locally and overseas. They are involved in supporting the local community by organising yearly free dental events, very popular among the locals as Palm Square Dental Fair.

They also regularly help with dental education support programs in Nepal and India.

They have been sponsors to the Strathfieldsaye Striders supporting their campaign to raise money for cancer research.

Dr. Vijay’s personal philosophy is that every client should receive dental care in a warm compassionate manner and our office is geared towards fulfilling this goal. He is a gentle and passionate dentist who believes in only offering the level of dental care he would offer to his family and friends.

When not at work, Dr Vijay enjoys spending time with family and friends. He loves sport and enjoys his game of Badminton every week.

Dr Kaveri Kariappa, Dentist

Dr Kaveri is very passionate about Dentistry and believes patient education is the key in laying the foundation for good oral care. She believes in paying close attention to the needs and expectations of each of her patients. When you are her patient, you can be assured that she will work closely with you and come up with a complete, individualized plan, that will help you achieve your dental goals.

Dr Kaveri takes pride in her ability to transform her patient’s smiles. She can help you create the beautiful smile you have always dreamed of.

Dr Kaveri is passionate about keeping current with the latest advances in dentistry. She has completed hundreds of hours of continuing dental education and training in newer developments in dentistry, in efforts to provide comprehensive dental care to her patients.

Dr Marcus Matear, Dentist

Dr Marcus graduated from Melbourne University. He has worked in Melbourne, Echuca and has relocated to Bendigo to join the Palm Square Dental Care Team.

Marcus is passionate about providing excellent care for his patients.

He was an anxious patient himself. “Now, I find understanding and caring for patients highly rewarding. I enjoy seeing patients of all ages. I am passionate about improving patients appearance, function and helping patients.”

Marcus has a special interest in preventive and cosmetic dentistry. He has volunteered at the Vanuatu Dental Hospital.

Outside of work, Marcus was a contestant on the Foxtel TV show, Great Australian Bake Off 2018. He enjoys cooking, dancing, tennis and spending time with his family and friends.

Dr Jenny Nguyen, Dentist

Dr Jenny graduated from Griffith University in the sunny Gold Coast, and decided to relocate to Bendigo to join the Bendigo Family Dental Care team. She is a passionate and caring dentist, who strongly believes in providing a gentle and positive experience for her patients.

Dr Jenny has a special interest in preventative dentistry and believes that patient education is crucial to improving the oral health of her patients. She also has a special interest in aesthetic dentistry, and helping patients restore their smiles. She understands the importance of building patient relationships, taking the time to listen to their concerns and working together to achieve positive outcomes.

Dr Jenny also like to be involved in helping the community, and went on a volunteer trip to Cambodia, giving dental treatment to the children living in the provinces and orphanages. It was a wonderful and rewarding experience, and she is looking forward to future volunteer trips.

In her free time, she loves to make desserts for her friends and family. She also likes to relax by practicing her calligraphy and watercolour skills.

Dr. Jiani Ma

Dr Jiani Ma is a compassionate general dentist dedicated to providing high-quality, comprehensive dental care to patients of all ages. She holds a Bachelor of Biomedicine and a Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Melbourne, and combines a strong academic background with clinical expertise to deliver gentle, personalised care.

Jiani enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, with particular interests in preventive and restorative treatments. She is also fluent in Mandarin Chinese, allowing her to better support a diverse range of patients.

Outside of dentistry, Jiani loves reading, discovering new cuisines with family and friends, and spending time with her adorable cavoodle.

Dr. Alex Hong

Dr. Alex (Youngi) Hong is a dedicated and compassionate general dentist who graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Science (Honours) from La Trobe University. He has worked extensively across regional Victoria, including Bendigo, Ballarat, and Wonthaggi, where he cared for diverse communities and strengthened his philosophy of patient-centered care before joining Palm Square Dental Care.

Dr. Alex is recognised for his gentle chairside manner, meticulous attention to detail, and commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes. He practices all aspects of general dentistry, with particular interests in aesthetic and restorative procedures, as well as minor oral surgery, including wisdom tooth extractions. His approach focuses on personalised treatment planning, clinical excellence, and fostering a comfortable, supportive experience for every patient.

Believing that exceptional dentistry blends precision with a personal touch, Dr. Alex continually advances his skills to restore both function and aesthetics while promoting patient confidence.

Outside the clinic, he enjoys an active lifestyle through tennis and fishing, with his proudest catch being a 75cm snapper! Fluent in both English and Korean, Dr. Alex cherishes warm and genuine communication with every patient.

Dr. Daniel Hughes

Originally from Swan Hill, Dr Daniel relocated to Bendigo to complete his dentistry studies at La Trobe University and has called the area home ever since. With strong roots in regional Victoria, Dr Daniel is passionate about delivering high-quality, community-focused dental care in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Dr Daniel has special interests in cosmetic and preventative dentistry, staying up to date with the latest advancements through continuing education and professional development to ensure his patients receive the highest standard of care.

Known for his gentle manner and attention to detail, Dr Daniel is committed to creating a positive dental environment where all patients feel comfortable and heard.

Beyond his passion for dentistry, Daniel loves all things sport. You’ll often find him playing tennis, marathon training, and getting around the Inglewood Football Club.
